Spoofing the numbers, "aditional instructions", helpful worker and memory card

Apparently L0j1k on 6. 19. 2013 successfully spoofed the number and got helpful worker from airport to pick up some memory card for him. No news about content of card or content of "additional instructions" so far though. Excerpts from log

  • I had recruited a helpful airport worker at one of the restaurants in Terminal 2 ("J"). J was nice and helpful, but I could sense she was not enthusiastic about anything more than the monetary reward ($20) I promised in return for finding and mailing the memory card mentioned in the "further instructions". She told me in a text message that she was mailing it to me and gave me her email address. Upon pressing her for further information over two days' time, it turns out she did not actually find the card but just wanted the money. So I immediately started recruiting other people. EDIT from 21.6. 2013 19:30 GMT

(... CONTINUED FROM ABOVE) I recruited another worker from an office at the airport ("M") who was *much* more helpful and generally enthusiastic about our "scavenger hunt" and wanted to help. She even said I didn't need to give her any money in exchange for her help. After some time searching and not finding the card, she had to go back to work, but promised to call me back afterwards to continue searching. Meanwhile, those of us in IRC started tracking down TDD payphone information so that we could give her a walkthrough in operating the device and hopefully find the memory card somewhere within. It should be noted that I checked the 888 number and verified working TTY tones about an hour before the final search. After M called me back, she had recruited her son to help her look for the card with no luck. We successfully opened the TTY device by dialing 711, and -- as you can see below -- she took very good pictures of the device and surroundings, which reveal no memory card. Her son also tried for quite some time (15-20 minutes) searching the little payphone area, to no avail. As a last-ditch effort, I instructed M to dial the 888 number, and that perhaps there would be some miracle and/or magic that would reveal the memory card. However, upon dialing the number, 888 no longer responded with TTY tones. We dialed the number a couple of times trying to get TTY tones that were normally there (and which I had verified about an hour previously) but which were not any longer. I suspect PMs were either watching IRL or in IRC. No memory card was found, and I thanked M and sent her money for her extraordinary help. Afterwards, I tried several times to get TTY tones on 888, but it appears that PMs have changed the 888 number to no longer respond to the Fort Lauderdale number except with a "no longer in service" disconnection error. Check this log from "15:10 < L0j1k> big trouble in little china" down apparently nobody found any memory card on that drop location so far. http://198.23.165.56/irclogs/%23arg/2013_06_21_%23arg.log

15:40 < NiceLurk> what were "further instructions"
[21:41] L0j1k like i've said before: PLEASE REMOVE MEMORY CARD. PLEASE WAIT. FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE ON XXXXXXX.
