ABISM is a transmission, telecommunication technology or protocol used by MLPL agents to send lightly encoded messages.

ABISM modems have also been mentioned in messages. Similarly, in the Braco package drop information was received for character maps of an "Emtanon 18k". It has been speculated that this refers to an ABISM device.

In some instances, such as the Message desk OS prompts, ABISM messages have been shown to be interactive with login and command-line style prompts.
